La Taverna di Masaniello great place to eat in Amalfi, Italy

Our hosts, dressed in white shirts, Pietro, Andrea and Gerardo Dipino have owned La taverna di Masaniello for about a year. Their success, they told us, depends on people coming back and word of mouth. Spreading the word gladly, and we'll be back with our guests.

We were referred to this friendly little Ristorante tucked away on a back street in the medieval heart of Amalfi by the receptionist at our hotel. We loved La Taverna di Masaniello so much that on the first night, after our plates were cleared and we pushed back with warm and satisfied bellies to make a reservation at Masaniello for the next night. And the next night. If we were staying in Amalfi for five nights we would have eaten at La Taverna di Masaniello all five. Locally known for its great pizza, our favorites were the pasta dishes and especially, the lasagna created by the chef just for our group because some members had been looking for this well-known (but surprisingly hard to find) dish for the past week.
