While making our way from Meersburg on the Bodensee of Germany over to the southwestern corner of the country and the Suedliche Weinstrasse we decided to take a short-cut through a part of France. The Alsace is loaded with picturesque, colorful villages. The deeper colors and pastels can be found on houses along the wine  route south of Strasbourg. Farther north, where we were driving on this day, the villages are more brown and white with splashes of color provided by flowers.

One of those villages, Seebach, is always a delight for the eye. Villagers obviously take a great deal of pride in presenting their old farms in the best possible way, with loads of flowers sprouting from every available surface. A slow drive through the village allows our guests plenty of photo opps, and the driver, too.
