Today in Nuernburg, Germany

Inside the castle walls

We visited medieval Nuernburg today on our way to our overnight stop in Lauf an der Pegnitz. Of course we had bratwurst for lunch! The town is famous for them, along with its long history of toy making plus being at one time the capital of the German Reich (long before Hitler appropriated the word) in the time of the Emperors. The massive castle was once home to Friedrich “Barbarossa,” among others who came later.
