What a treat for the eye, heart and stomach! I received mine in June, 2020 and have already made several of the recipes, some of them more than once. This is a treasure for anyone who has had the privilege of staying at Shelburne Lodge, Kenmare, Ireland or who loves Irish cooking.

With 2020 being an extraordinary year, Tom and I are hoping you are in good spirits despite the challenges the pandemic is presenting.
Cookbook
I am delighted to say I finally put pen to paper last year and launched my lifetime cookbook in Spring this year ‘My Wild Atlantic Kitchen, Recipes & Recollections, Maura O’ Connell Foley’ (hardback, 408 pages, +250 recipes). Not only a cookbook, the book features many of my culinary recollections and stories and is accompanied by beautiful food and landscape photography with illustrations by artist Christine Bowen and paintings by my friend and internationally renowned artist Pauline Bewick.
We had to cancel all our scheduled launch celebrations in Dublin, Ireland & London, UK and we were in early plans for a US launch. However, we got extensive media reviews and with the boom in cooking at home, this allowed people to enjoy both reading and cooking from my book. In Ireland, the flour mills could not keep up with the demand for flour and the wholesalers and supermarkets were frequently out of stock!

This year, 2020, marks 25 years of Shelburne Lodge and it was an extraordinary year with a very short season but with marvellous support from our Irish customers & friends which we are grateful for. We are now closed for the season as we are in a second strict lockdown in Ireland.
Tom and I are both doing well and are taking each day, enjoying the garden (when weather permits), spending time with Grainne and our growing family, we now have 6 grandchildren who bring us both such joy. Our youngest is just 3 months and has been named Tom.
