Ancestral Photography is Back

Uhlbach, Baden-Wuerrtemberg, Germany

This is how European Focus began, all the way back in 1989. I had the revolutionary idea to photograph small towns in Germany for those tracing their ancestors. No one was doing this at that time – at least not professionally. This was waaay before the internet, before e-mail, before everything! It seems like the Stone Age, compared to now. This idea took off like a rocket ship, and now, 32 years and more than 3,000 towns and villages later, due to the global pandemic preventing so many from traveling, brought myself back to my own roots as a documentary photographer. This is the first project completed under my new combination photo and video routine. I hope you enjoy it.

To have your own ancestral town or towns photographed, just send me an e-mail to info@europeanfocus.com
