A stone circle even older than Stonehenge near Evora, Portugal

May 27

We were amazed recently to be able to walk around a series of more than 100 stones, called ‘Menhirs,’ located about 12 kilometers west of Evora, Portugal in the middle of a large grove of cork oak trees. The stones were placed in concentric circles more than 7,000 years ago. This makes the circle about 2,000 years older than Stonehenge, England.
