It’s a sign of the times, or rather, lots of signs of the times when you see “50% off” sale signs in the windows of stores at the very beginning of what should be this town’s busiest season. Inquiring at a souvenir store selling high-quality items from around Ireland, we were told today that “we are selling nothing, not even at half price.” And yet nearby, the manager of the Cashel Manor Hotel, a four-star establishment with grand public rooms and guest quarters is still sticking with their price of just over $650 a night for a junior suite. Hello? Have you walked outside your front gate for a look around Ireland lately?
